Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia in 2016, Bank Intesa Serbia was the largest bank by assets, followed by Komercijalna Banka Beograd and UniCredit Bank Serbia.
Bank Intesa Serbia assets reached RSD 551,416 mil, up 13.0% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s assets reached an all time high of RSD 551,416 mil in 2016 and an all time low of RSD 28,914 mil in 2002.
Comparing Bank Intesa Serbia with its closest peers, Komercijalna Banka Beograd assets amounted to RSD 400,017 mil, UniCredit Bank Serbia operated with RSD 337,402 mil assets and Raiffeisenbank Serbia had total assets of RSD 254,025 mil.
Total assets of the Serbian banking sector amounted to RSD 3,594 bil in 2016, up 4.86% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Bank Intesa Serbia accounted for 15.3% of the sector’s assets in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 35.9% share while the five largest firms some 49.7% in 2016.
