Based on a comparison of 16 banks in Serbia in 2016, Societe Generale Serbia was the best capitalised bank, followed by Komercijalna Banka Beograd and AIK Banka.
Societe Generale Serbia's capital adequacy ratio reached 1,636%, up from 16.3% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 1,636% in 2016 and an all time low of 14.1% in 2010.
Comparing Societe Generale Serbia with its closest peers, Komercijalna Banka Beograd ended the year 2016 with a capital adequacy ratio at 27.0%, AIK Banka with 26.2% and Raiffeisenbank Serbia some 24.0% at the end of 2016.
