Based on a comparison of 19 banks in Russia in 2017, Sberbank was the largest deposit taker, followed by VTB Bank and Gazprombank.
Sberbank's customer deposits reached RUB 19,759,000 mil, up from RUB 18,612,900 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of RUB 19,759,000 mil in 2017 and an all time low of RUB 368,055 mil in 1995.
Comparing Sberbank with its closest peers, VTB Bank's deposits amounted to RUB 9,137,800 mil at the end of 2017, Gazprombank operated with RUB 3,915,440 mil of customer deposits and Russian Agricultural Bank had clients' deposits of RUB 2,203,580 mil at the end of 2017.
Russian banks had customer deposits of CZK 37,471 bil in 2017, up 6.51% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Sberbank accounted for 52.7% of the sector’s deposits in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 87.6% share while the five largest firms some 98.0% in 2017.
