Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 1Q2017, PKO BP was the largest lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP loans reached PLN 199,557 mil, up 0.145% when compared to the previous quarter and up 6.63% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of PLN 199,557 mil in 1Q2017 and an all time low of PLN 35,762 mil in 3Q2003.

When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao customer loans amounted to PLN 120,519 mil, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 104,018 mil loans and ING Bank Slaski had a loan portfolio of PLN 84,400 mil.

Polish banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 3,041 bil in 1Q2017, up 7.25% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 6.56% of the sector’s loans in 1Q2017. The top 3 companies held a 13.9% share while the five largest firms some 19.4% in 1Q2017.
