Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 1Q2016, PKO BP was the largest lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP loans reached PLN 187,154 mil, up 0.631% when compared to the previous quarter and up 2.72% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of PLN 187,154 mil in 1Q2016 and an all time low of PLN 35,762 mil in 3Q2003.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao customer loans amounted to PLN 113,638 mil, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 97,468 mil loans and mBank had a loan portfolio of PLN 77,941 mil.
Polish banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 2,835 bil in 1Q2016, up 6.86% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 6.60% of the sector’s loans in 1Q2016. The top 3 companies held a 14.0% share while the five largest firms some 19.5% in 1Q2016.
