Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 4Q2016, PKO BP was the largest deposit taker, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP's customer deposits reached PLN 205,066 mil, up 2.32% when compared to the previous quarter and up 5.20% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 205,066 mil in 4Q2016 and an all time low of PLN 69,787 mil in 1Q2004.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's deposits amounted to PLN 137,816 mil at the end of 4Q2016, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 112,522 mil of customer deposits and ING Bank Slaski had clients' deposits of PLN 95,825 mil at the end of 4Q2016.
Polish banks had customer deposits of CZK 3,767 bil in 4Q2016, up 7.00% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 5.44% of the sector’s deposits in 4Q2016. The top 3 companies held a 12.1% share while the five largest firms some 16.9% in 4Q2016.
