Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 3Q2023, PKO BP was the largest deposit taker, followed by Pekao and ING Bank Slaski.
PKO BP's customer deposits reached PLN 376,498 mil, up 2.85% when compared to the previous quarter and up 10.8% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 376,498 mil in 3Q2023 and an all time low of PLN 69,787 mil in 1Q2004.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's deposits amounted to PLN 241,308 mil at the end of 3Q2023, ING Bank Slaski operated with PLN 202,417 mil of customer deposits and Santander Bank Polska had clients' deposits of PLN 200,656 mil at the end of 3Q2023.
Polish banks had customer deposits of CZK 6,933 bil in 3Q2023, up 8.05% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 5.43% of the sector’s deposits in 3Q2023. The top 3 companies held a 11.8% share while the five largest firms some 14.5% in 3Q2023.
