Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 3Q2017, PKO BP was the largest deposit taker, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP's customer deposits reached PLN 209,585 mil, up 1.13% when compared to the previous quarter and up 4.57% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 209,585 mil in 3Q2017 and an all time low of PLN 69,787 mil in 1Q2004.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's deposits amounted to PLN 136,193 mil at the end of 3Q2017, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 111,023 mil of customer deposits and ING Bank Slaski had clients' deposits of PLN 98,460 mil at the end of 3Q2017.
Polish banks had customer deposits of CZK 4,268 bil in 3Q2017, up 13.9% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 4.91% of the sector’s deposits in 3Q2017. The top 3 companies held a 10.7% share while the five largest firms some 15.0% in 3Q2017.
