Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Poland in 2017, PKO BP was the largest deposit taker, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP's customer deposits reached PLN 218,752 mil, up from PLN 205,066 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 218,752 mil in 2017 and an all time low of PLN 70,101 mil in 2002.
Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao's deposits amounted to PLN 145,398 mil at the end of 2017, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 111,481 mil of customer deposits and ING Bank Slaski had clients' deposits of PLN 104,503 mil at the end of 2017.
Polish banks had customer deposits of CZK 4,169 bil in 2017, up 10.7% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 5.25% of the sector’s deposits in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 11.4% share while the five largest firms some 16.1% in 2017.
