Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 3Q2017, Bank Millennium was the best capitalised bank, followed by mBank and PKO BP.
Bank Millennium's capital adequacy ratio reached 20.5%, up from 18.1% when compared to the previous quarter and up from 18.0% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 22.4% in 4Q2004 and an all time low of 10.0% in 2Q2002.
When compared to the nearest peers, mBank ended the year 3Q2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 20.5%, PKO BP with 17.7% and Bank Handlowy some 17.3% at the end of 3Q2017.
The average capital adequacy reached 18.4% in the Polish banking sector in 3Q2017.
