Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 3Q2016, mBank was the best capitalised bank, followed by Pekao and Bank Millennium.
mBank's capital adequacy ratio reached 18.6%, up from 18.3% when compared to the previous quarter and up from 17.0% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 19.4% in 4Q2013 and an all time low of 7.62% in 1Q2004.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao ended the year 3Q2016 with a capital adequacy ratio at 18.1%, Bank Millennium with 18.0% and Bank Handlowy some 17.1% at the end of 3Q2016.
The average capital adequacy reached 17.7% in the Polish banking sector in 3Q2016.
