Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Poland in 2017, Bank Millennium was the best capitalised bank, followed by mBank and Bank Handlowy.
Bank Millennium's capital adequacy ratio reached 22.0%, up from 17.4% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 38.2% in 1994 and an all time low of 10.2% in 2008.
Comparing Bank Millennium with its closest peers, mBank ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 21.0%, Bank Handlowy with 17.9% and Bank Pocztowy some 17.8% at the end of 2017.
The average capital adequacy reached 19.3% in the Polish banking sector in 2017.
