Average cost reached PLN 12,654 per month per employee, 6.98% more than a year ago. This figure was PLN 10,555 per month some 10 years ago.
Staff accounted for 46.3% of total operating expenditures in 2016.
Comparing Bank Handlowy with its closest peers, Bank BPH had 5,287 employees with average cost of PLN 11,284 per month per person, ING Bank Slaski operated with 8,025 people (and PLN 10,792 per month per employee) and Raiffeisen Bank Polska had 4,338 employees in 2016 with cost of PLN 10,533 per month per head.
The average staff cost per employee reached PLN 71,803 per month in the Polish banking sector in 2016.
