PKO BP employed 28,414 persons in 3Q2017, down 1.43% when compared to the previous quarter and down 1.65% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 35,386 persons in 4Q2004 and an all time low of 27,387 in 4Q2013.
Average cost reached CZK 8,740 per month per employee, 1.17% more than a year ago. This figure was CZK 6,060 per month some 10 years ago.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao had 17,381 employees with average cost of CZK 9,458 per person a month, Santander Bank Polska operated with 14,473 people (and CZK 9,006 per employee) and Alior Bank had 8,905 employees in 3Q2017 with CZK 8,905 cost per head.
Polish banking sector employed 41,749 people in 3Q2017. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 77,239 per month.
