PKO BP employed 28,867 persons in 2Q2016, down 0.524% when compared to the previous quarter and down 0.145% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 35,386 persons in 4Q2004 and an all time low of 27,387 in 4Q2013.
Average cost reached CZK 8,208 per month per employee, 3.77% more than a year ago. This figure was CZK 5,508 per month some 10 years ago.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao had 18,150 employees with average cost of CZK 8,687 per person a month, Santander Bank Polska operated with 13,937 people (and CZK 8,970 per employee) and ING Bank Slaski had 8,245 employees in 2Q2016 with CZK 8,245 cost per head.
Polish banking sector employed 41,263 people in 2Q2016. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 71,638 per month.
