Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Poland in 2017, PKO BP had the most employees, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP employed 28,443 persons in 2017, up 9.82% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 37,667 persons in 2002 and an all time low of 25,900 in 2016.

Average cost reached CZK 8,713 per month per month per employee, 4.50% less than a year ago. This figure was CZK 6,221 per month some 10 years ago.

Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao had 17,339 employees with average cost of CZK 9,373 per month per person, Santander Bank Polska operated with 14,200 people (and CZK 9,170 per month per employee) and Alior Bank had 8,110 employees in 2017 with cost CZK 8,110 per month per head.

Polish banking sector employed 41,888 people in 2017. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 75,861 per month.
