PKO BP employed 29,019 persons in 1Q2016, down 0.691% when compared to the previous quarter and up 0.128% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 33,091 persons in 1Q2006 and an all time low of 27,387 in 4Q2013.
Average cost reached CZK 7,910 per month per employee, 22.6% less than a year ago. This figure was CZK 3,576 per month some 10 years ago.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao had 18,315 employees with average cost of CZK 8,575 per person a month, Santander Bank Polska operated with 14,037 people (and CZK 8,799 per employee) and ING Bank Slaski had 8,271 employees in 1Q2016 with CZK 8,271 cost per head.
Polish banking sector employed 41,316 people in 1Q2016. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 71,256 per month.
