Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 4Q2017, PKO BP generated the largest revenues, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP reported total revenues of PLN 3,527 mil, up 1.76% when compared to the previous quarter and up 6.89% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of PLN 3,527 mil in 4Q2017 and an all time low of PLN 1,368 mil in 3Q2004. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to PLN 3,089 mil.
Bank's total revenues accounted for 4.75% of total assets in 4Q2017, up from 4.62% a year earlier.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao generated total revenues of PLN 2,102 mil, or 4.53% of assets in 4Q2017, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 1,979 mil total income, or 5.18% revenue margin and mBank produced total income worth PLN 1,362 mil, or 4.15% of assets.
Polish banking sector generated total revenues of PLN 46,018 mil in 4Q2017, up 13.1% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 7.66% of the sector’s total income in 4Q2017. The top 3 companies held a 16.5% share while the five largest firms some 22.2% in 4Q2017.
