What Banks in Poland Generated the Most Revenues in 2Q2016?

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 2Q2016, PKO BP generated the largest revenues, followed by Santander Bank Polska and Pekao.

PKO BP reported total revenues of PLN 3,098 mil, up 5.54% when compared to the previous quarter and up 8.47% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of PLN 3,302 mil in 2Q2014 and an all time low of PLN 1,368 mil in 3Q2004. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to PLN 3,005 mil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 4.55% of total assets in 2Q2016, up from 4.47% a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, Santander Bank Polska generated total revenues of PLN 2,214 mil, or 6.22% of assets in 2Q2016, Pekao operated with PLN 2,075 mil total income, or 5.00% revenue margin and mBank produced total income worth PLN 1,373 mil, or 4.27% of assets.

Polish banking sector generated total revenues of PLN 58,684 mil in 2Q2016, up 25.3% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 5.28% of the sector’s total income in 2Q2016. The top 3 companies held a 12.6% share while the five largest firms some 16.9% in 2Q2016.
