Based on a comparison of 14 banks in Italy in 2018, Credito Emiliano operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Banca Popolare di Sondrio and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
Credito Emiliano's loan to deposit ratio reached 106% at the end of 2018, up from 86.3% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 138% in 2000 and an all time low of 79.0% in 1994.
Comparing Credito Emiliano with its closest peers, Banca Popolare di Sondrio ended the year 2018 with loans to deposits at 106%, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti with 115% and Banco BPM some 116% of loans to deposits at the end of 2018.
