What Banks in Hungary Were the Largest in 2016?

Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Hungary in 2016, OTP Group was the largest bank by assets, followed by OTP Bank Hungary and K&H Bank.

OTP Group assets reached HUF 11,209,000 mil, up 4.57% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s assets reached an all time high of HUF 11,209,000 mil in 2016 and an all time low of HUF 825,253 mil in 1993.

Comparing OTP Group with its closest peers, OTP Bank Hungary assets amounted to HUF 7,148,670 mil, K&H Bank operated with HUF 2,856,130 mil assets and UniCredit Bank Hungary had total assets of HUF 2,737,010 mil.

Total assets of the Hungarian banking sector amounted to CZK 5,706 bil in 2016, up 9.67% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - OTP Group accounted for 196% of the sector’s assets in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 372% share while the five largest firms some 457% in 2016.
