What Banks in Czechia Were the Largest Mortgage Lenders in 4Q2017?

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 4Q2017, PKO BP was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP's mortgage loans reached PLN 101,544 mil, down 6.61% when compared to the previous quarter and down 6.26% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of PLN 108,730 mil in 3Q2017 and an all time low of PLN 15,054 mil in 1Q2004.

At the end of 4Q2017, mortgage loans represented 49.6% of PKO BP's loan book.

When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's mortgage loans amounted to PLN 50,446 mil at the end of 4Q2017, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 37,293 mil mortgage loans and mBank had a mortgage loan book of PLN 32,593 mil at the end of 4Q2017.

Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,148 bil in 4Q2017, up 9.00% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 8.84% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 4Q2017. The top 3 companies hold a 16.5% share while the five largest firms some 21.7% in 4Q2017.
