Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 3Q2016, PKO BP was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.
PKO BP's mortgage loans reached PLN 106,059 mil, up 0.307% when compared to the previous quarter and up 4.12% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of PLN 106,059 mil in 3Q2016 and an all time low of PLN 15,054 mil in 1Q2004.
At the end of 3Q2016, mortgage loans represented 55.3% of PKO BP's loan book.
When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's mortgage loans amounted to PLN 44,993 mil at the end of 3Q2016, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 35,953 mil mortgage loans and mBank had a mortgage loan book of PLN 34,625 mil at the end of 3Q2016.
Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,029 bil in 3Q2016, up 8.32% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 10.3% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 3Q2016. The top 3 companies hold a 18.2% share while the five largest firms some 24.2% in 3Q2016.
