Based on a comparison of 17 banks in Czechia in 2Q2024, CSOB was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Ceska Sporitelna and Komercni Banka.
CSOB's mortgage loans reached CZK 528,100 mil, up 1.05% when compared to the previous quarter and up 3.04% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CZK 528,100 mil in 2Q2024 and an all time low of CZK 39,100 mil in 4Q2005.
At the end of 2Q2024, mortgage loans represented 56.2% of CSOB's loan book.
When compared to the nearest peers, Ceska Sporitelna's mortgage loans amounted to CZK 415,028 mil at the end of 2Q2024, Komercni Banka operated with CZK 376,700 mil mortgage loans and UniCredit Bank Czecho-Slovakia had a mortgage loan book of CZK 172,000 mil at the end of 2Q2024.
Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,778 bil in 2Q2024, up 3.57% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - CSOB accounted for 29.7% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 2Q2024. The top 3 companies hold a 74.2% share while the five largest firms some 91.7% in 2Q2024.
