Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Czechia in 2018, CSOB was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Ceska Sporitelna and Komercni Banka.
CSOB's mortgage loans reached CZK 417,700 mil, up from CZK 282,400 mil compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CZK 417,700 mil in 2018 and an all time low of CZK 14,400 mil in 2002.
At the end of 2018, mortgage loans represented 60.5% of CSOB's loan book.
Comparing CSOB with its closest peers, Ceska Sporitelna's mortgage loans amounted to CZK 259,700 mil at the end of 2018, Komercni Banka operated with CZK 223,900 mil mortgage loans and CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna had a mortgage loan book of CZK 117,338 mil at the end of 2018.
Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,246 mil in 2018, up 8.52% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - CSOB accounted for 33.5% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 2018. The top 3 companies hold a 72.3% share while the five largest firms some 89.9% in 2018.
