What Banks in Czechia Were the Largest Mortgage Lenders in 1Q2016?

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 1Q2016, PKO BP was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP's mortgage loans reached PLN 102,985 mil, down 0.020% when compared to the previous quarter and up 1.99% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of PLN 103,006 mil in 4Q2015 and an all time low of PLN 15,054 mil in 1Q2004.

At the end of 1Q2016, mortgage loans represented 55.0% of PKO BP's loan book.

When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao's mortgage loans amounted to PLN 43,258 mil at the end of 1Q2016, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 34,168 mil mortgage loans and mBank had a mortgage loan book of PLN 34,107 mil at the end of 1Q2016.

Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 982 bil in 1Q2016, up 7.82% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 10.5% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 1Q2016. The top 3 companies hold a 18.4% share while the five largest firms some 24.6% in 1Q2016.
