Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Czechia in 3Q2018, Hypotecni Banka was the best capitalised bank, followed by Max banka and Modra Pyramida Stavebni Sporitelna.
Hypotecni Banka's capital adequacy ratio reached 35.5%, down from 41.2% when compared to the previous quarter and down from 36.5% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 56.4% in 2Q2008 and an all time low of 8.16% in 4Q2002.
When compared to the nearest peers, Max banka ended the year 3Q2018 with a capital adequacy ratio at 21.4%, Modra Pyramida Stavebni Sporitelna with 20.4% and Stavebni Sporitelna Ceske Sporitelny some 19.0% at the end of 3Q2018.
The average capital adequacy reached 18.7% in the Czech banking sector in 3Q2018.
