Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Czechia in 3Q2017, Hypotecni Banka was the best capitalised bank, followed by Max banka and CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna.
Hypotecni Banka's capital adequacy ratio reached 36.5%, down from 36.6% when compared to the previous quarter and up from 34.2% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 56.4% in 2Q2008 and an all time low of 8.16% in 4Q2002.
When compared to the nearest peers, Max banka ended the year 3Q2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 27.2%, CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna with 20.6% and Moneta Stavebni Sporitelna some 18.4% at the end of 3Q2017.
The average capital adequacy reached 18.4% in the Czech banking sector in 3Q2017.
