Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Czechia in 2Q2016, Hypotecni Banka was the best capitalised bank, followed by Max banka and Ceska Sporitelna.
Hypotecni Banka's capital adequacy ratio reached 34.6%, down from 39.0% when compared to the previous quarter and up from 32.6% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 56.4% in 2Q2008 and an all time low of 8.16% in 4Q2002.
When compared to the nearest peers, Max banka ended the year 2Q2016 with a capital adequacy ratio at 24.8%, Ceska Sporitelna with 19.6% and Moneta Stavebni Sporitelna some 19.5% at the end of 2Q2016.
The average capital adequacy reached 17.8% in the Czech banking sector in 2Q2016.
