What Banks in Czechia Had the Most Bad Loans in 3Q2018?

Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Czechia in 3Q2018, Trinity Bank had the highest share of bad loans, followed by Banka Creditas and J&T Banka.

Trinity Bank's non-performing loans reached 18.8% of total loans at the end of 3Q2018, up from 18.5% when compared to the previous quarter and down from 24.3% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 40.2% in 1Q2015 and an all time low of 0.204% in 3Q2007.

Provision coverage amounted to 10.1% at the end of 3Q2018, down from 11.7% compared to a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, Banka Creditas operated at the end of 3Q2018 with NPL ratio of 10.1% and provision coverage of 23.0%, J&T Banka with 9.51% and 51.5% and Moneta Stavebni Sporitelna had 8.26% of bad loans covered with 67.2% by provisions at the end of 3Q2018.

Non-performing loans of the whole Czechia’s banking sector amounted to 3.17% of total loans in 3Q2018, down from 3.71% when compared to the last year.
