Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Czechia in 2Q2016, Trinity Bank had the highest share of bad loans, followed by PPF Banka and Banka Creditas.

Trinity Bank's non-performing loans reached 29.6% of total loans at the end of 2Q2016, down from 31.5% when compared to the previous quarter and down from 35.1% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 40.2% in 1Q2015 and an all time low of 0.204% in 3Q2007.

Provision coverage amounted to 18.5% at the end of 2Q2016, up from 12.3% compared to a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, PPF Banka operated at the end of 2Q2016 with NPL ratio of 18.5% and provision coverage of 22.9%, Banka Creditas with 11.3% and 32.7% and Max banka had 9.49% of bad loans covered with 18.4% by provisions at the end of 2Q2016.

Non-performing loans of the whole Czechia’s banking sector amounted to 4.91% of total loans in 2Q2016, down from 5.56% when compared to the last year.
