Based on a comparison of 23 banks in Croatia in 2016, Zagrebacka Banka was the largest deposit taker, followed by Privredna Banka Zagreb and Erste & Steiermarkische Bank.
Zagrebacka Banka's customer deposits reached HRK 92,228 mil, up from HRK 86,544 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of HRK 92,228 mil in 2016 and an all time low of HRK 27,307 mil in 2000.
Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, Privredna Banka Zagreb's deposits amounted to HRK 74,284 mil at the end of 2016, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank operated with HRK 43,323 mil of customer deposits and Raiffeisenbank Croatia had clients' deposits of HRK 24,144 mil at the end of 2016.
Croatian banks had customer deposits of CZK 273 bil in 2016, up 3.28% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Zagrebacka Banka accounted for 33.7% of the sector’s deposits in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 76.8% share while the five largest firms some 93.2% in 2016.
