Based on a comparison of 27 banks in Croatia in 2017, PBZ Stambena Stedionica was the best capitalised bank, followed by Prva Stambena Stedionica and Addiko Bank Croatia.
PBZ Stambena Stedionica's capital adequacy ratio reached 58.8%, up from 50.8% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 118% in 2009 and an all time low of 46.0% in 2013.
Comparing PBZ Stambena Stedionica with its closest peers, Prva Stambena Stedionica ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 30.5%, Addiko Bank Croatia with 27.8% and Zagrebacka Banka some 27.8% at the end of 2017.
The average capital adequacy reached 23.2% in the Croatian banking sector in 2017.
