Based on a comparison of 27 banks in Croatia in 2016, PBZ Stambena Stedionica was the best capitalised bank, followed by Addiko Bank Croatia and Prva Stambena Stedionica.
PBZ Stambena Stedionica's capital adequacy ratio reached 50.8%, down from 62.3% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 118% in 2009 and an all time low of 46.0% in 2013.
Comparing PBZ Stambena Stedionica with its closest peers, Addiko Bank Croatia ended the year 2016 with a capital adequacy ratio at 29.4%, Prva Stambena Stedionica with 26.4% and Zagrebacka Banka some 26.2% at the end of 2016.
The average capital adequacy reached 22.5% in the Croatian banking sector in 2016.
