Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Croatia in 2017, Zagrebacka Banka generated the largest revenues, followed by Privredna Banka Zagreb and Erste & Steiermarkische Bank.
Zagrebacka Banka reported total revenues of HRK 5,451 mil, down 2.45% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of HRK 5,588 mil in 2016 and an all time low of HRK 3,099 mil in 2002. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to HRK 5,232 mil.
Bank's total revenues accounted for 4.30% of total assets in 2017, down from 4.35% a year earlier.
Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, Privredna Banka Zagreb generated total revenues of HRK 4,908 mil, or 4.77% of assets in 2017, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank operated with HRK 3,143 mil total income, or 4.77% revenue margin and Raiffeisenbank Croatia produced total income worth HRK 1,874 mil, or 5.48% of assets.
Croatian banking sector generated total revenues of HRK 18,454 mil in 2017, down 2.85% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - Zagrebacka Banka accounted for 29.5% of the sector’s total income in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 73.2% share while the five largest firms some 89.4% in 2017.
