Salzburger Sparkasse employed 581 persons in 2016, up 0.172% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 670 persons in 2008 and an all time low of 580 in 2015.
Average cost reached EUR 7,816 per month per employee, 12.9% more than a year ago. This figure was EUR 7,943 per month some 10 years ago.
Staff accounted for 60.5% of total operating expenditures in 2016.
Comparing Salzburger Sparkasse with its closest peers, Raiffeisenlandesbank Steiermark had 926 employees with average cost of EUR 7,791 per month per person, Raiffeisenlandesbank Tirol operated with 336 people (and EUR 7,576 per month per employee) and BAWAG Group had 2,951 employees in 2016 with cost of EUR 7,571 per month per head.
The average staff cost per employee reached EUR 7,712 per month in the Austrian banking sector in 2016.
