Waterway goods transported in million of tonnes fell 0.009% to 221 Mt in Germany in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, waterway goods transported in million of tonnes in Germany reached an all time high of 249 Mt in 2007 and an all time low of 204 Mt in 2009. When compared to Germany's main peers, waterway goods transported in million of tonnes in Austria amounted to 9.07 Mt, 193 Mt in Belgium, 65.2 Mt in France and 3.91 Mt in Poland in 2016.
