Historically, urban population in Iran reached an all time high of 67.1 mil in 2021 and an all time low of 7.22 mil in 1960. When compared to Iran's main peers, urban population in Iraq amounted to 31.0 mil, 86.6 mil in Pakistan and 3.36 mil in Turkmenistan in 2021.
