Historically, total coal consumption in Estonia reached an all time high of 229 kt in 1992 and an all time low of 23.1 kt in 1997. When compared to Estonia's main peers, total coal consumption in Finland amounted to 4,438 kt, 89.3 kt in Latvia, 278 kt in Lithuania and 228,176 kt in Russia in 2015.
