Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 3.73% to 92,326 tonnes in Bangladesh in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh reached an all time high of 128,597 tonnes in 2019 and an all time low of 25,900 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Bangladesh's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bhutan amounted to 216 tonnes, 2,188,100 tonnes in China, 772,152 tonnes in India and 26,971 tonnes in Myanmar in 2022.
Bangladesh has been ranked 11th within the group of 115 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 1 place below the position seen 10 years ago.
