Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 3.67% to 89,002 tonnes in Bangladesh in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh reached an all time high of 128,597 tonnes in 2019 and an all time low of 25,900 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Bangladesh's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bhutan amounted to 213 tonnes, 2,127,600 tonnes in China, 757,514 tonnes in India and 34,657 tonnes in Myanmar in 2021.
Bangladesh has been ranked 11th within the group of 116 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 1 place above the position seen 10 years ago.
