Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Nicaragua reached an all time high of 7,786 tonnes in 2022 and an all time low of 600 tonnes in 1962. When compared to Nicaragua's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Costa Rica amounted to 47.2 tonnes, 1,781 tonnes in El Salvador, 5,849 tonnes in Honduras and 16,511 tonnes in Mexico in 2022.
