Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 28.2% to 216,800 tonnes in the USA in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in the USA reached an all time high of 1,063,100 tonnes in 1963 and an all time low of 169,130 tonnes in 2020. When compared to USA's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Canada amounted to 27,776 tonnes, 2,127,600 tonnes in China, 14,237 tonnes in Japan and 17,824 tonnes in Mexico in 2021.
