Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 15.8% to 95,517 tonnes in Mozambique in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Mozambique reached an all time high of 142,041 tonnes in 2019 and an all time low of 2,000 tonnes in 1967. When compared to Mozambique's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Malawi amounted to 103,806 tonnes, 10,000 tonnes in South Africa, 61,636 tonnes in Tanzania and 38,738 tonnes in Zambia in 2022.
