Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 12.7% to 82,250 tonnes in Turkey in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Turkey reached an all time high of 338,796 tonnes in 1993 and an all time low of 45,435 tonnes in 2011. When compared to Turkey's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bulgaria amounted to 3,820 tonnes, 13,910 tonnes in Greece, 2,343 tonnes in Iraq and 21,497 tonnes in Iran in 2022.
