Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 11.2% to 6,050 tonnes in Bulgaria in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bulgaria reached an all time high of 165,094 tonnes in 1976 and an all time low of 5,440 tonnes in 2020. When compared to Bulgaria's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Greece amounted to 19,370 tonnes, 970 tonnes in Romania, 10,097 tonnes in Serbia and 73,000 tonnes in Turkey in 2021.
Bulgaria has been ranked 51st within the group of 116 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 31 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
