Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 10.0% to 33.0 tonnes in Costa Rica in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Costa Rica reached an all time high of 3,186 tonnes in 1976 and an all time low of 14.0 tonnes in 2016. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Guatemala amounted to 29,895 tonnes, 5,850 tonnes in Honduras, 7,543 tonnes in Nicaragua and 2,803 tonnes in Panama in 2021.
