Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 0.935% to 772,152 tonnes in India in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in India reached an all time high of 830,000 tonnes in 2011 and an all time low of 293,000 tonnes in 1966. When compared to India's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh amounted to 92,326 tonnes, 2,188,100 tonnes in China, 133,562 tonnes in Pakistan and 6,612 tonnes in Sri Lanka in 2022.
India has been ranked 2nd within the group of 115 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production.
