Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Panama reached an all time high of 2,800 tonnes in 2007 and an all time low of 506 tonnes in 1972. When compared to Panama's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Colombia amounted to 4,238 tonnes, 47.2 tonnes in Costa Rica, 5,849 tonnes in Honduras and 7,786 tonnes in Nicaragua in 2022.
