Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 8.75% to 26,971 tonnes in Myanmar in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Myanmar reached an all time high of 74,122 tonnes in 1986 and an all time low of 20,100 tonnes in 2007. When compared to Myanmar's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in China amounted to 2,188,100 tonnes, 772,152 tonnes in India, 23,840 tonnes in Laos and 66,468 tonnes in Thailand in 2022.
Myanmar has been ranked 25th within the group of 115 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 1 place above the position seen 10 years ago.
